Beware!!!!!! There's a new STD in town

Mycoplasma genitalium aka MG is a bacteria that can live in the urinary and genital tract. It has been know about since 1983 but the link has only recently been made between the bacteria and sex. Most times women are asymptomatic but some may experience bleeding after sex, unusual vaginal discharge, lower pelvic pain, pain during sex and/or bleeding between periods. Men are always symptomatic with symptoms such as discharge, balantitis and prosthitis may be experienced.

It is transmitted via unprotected sex and is more common in people with multiple partners.  It is easily treated but also easily avoided, by the use of condom. So another good reason to always practice safe sex.
