Monique explains giving hubby a pass to cheat. Really Monique????

So the sanctity of marriage is being pissed on yet again.  I really like Monique because she keeps things real but I was really shocked by her recent comments. She says she and her husband have an open relationship where they can bed other people. So her husband can sleep with someone else who's willing to do something that she's not willing to do.

I don't know about you but there are two things that I won't share, my underwear and my man. I mean not only are there some nasty diseases out there but sex with my husband connects us. It's the one thing that differentiates my relationship with Seyi from other relationships in my life. So I don’t understand how one can allow their husband to have that connection with someone else?

Seyi and I are pretty kinky and very adventurous and will try most things, I say most. I mean there are some things I won't do no matter how much I love my boo, like I don't think the back door should be used as an entrance at all (if you catch my drift) so there's no way on God's sweet earth that I am going down that route. But if Seyi was into that, which he isn’t, we will have to find something that we are both comfortable with , not bring a third person in who will do it. That’s crazy and risky.

The way I see it marriage is for grownups who are ready to commit to each other and stay faithful to each other kinky sex or not and having an open marriage is not a sign of maturity but a sign greed and immaturity.

Kylie Jenner's bf linked to same porn star as HIV+ Charlie Sheen

Kylie & Jenner

This is why I don't share my underwear or my man. I am not a fan of the Kardashian clan, I mean talk about being famous for absolutely nothing and no talent, but this story made me stop as it link to a story I posted last week.

So 18 year old Kyle Jenner's bf, Tyga (the guy with a bus load of tattoos), apparently had a three year affair with Mia Isabella. The transgender porn star that has been linked to Charlie sheen, who if you remember came out to the world last week about his HIV positive status. So needless to say the Kardashian camp is frantic with worry and mummy K is pretty upset.

Mia Isabella

What I want to know is what do you call a guy that sleeps with transgender females? Gay? Me thinks after Kylie confirms her HIV status she and Tyga need to have a proper conversation about his sexuality so she knows where she stands

Can today's woman really have it all????

A recent UK study showed that a lot more women today, especially between the ages of 30 and 40 are suffering from work related stress than say 20 years ago. And this is because a woman's role has increased as we become wives, mothers and have careers.

I am a career woman myself, I have a husband and 3 children and I also run this online magablog. So I am a pharmacist, a wife, a mother and an entrepreneur and I love each of those roles, some more than others obviously.

I abandoned my ambition to become a cardiac surgeon (thank God) because I felt that for me to be able to achieve that and become good at it I would have to sacrifice having a family or at the very least start a family very late and I did not fancy becoming a geriatric mum. So I chose pharmacy instead. I like my career and I love this magablog but I feel most fulfilled and happiest when I am playing the role of wife and mother. When I'm reading with my youngest daughter, giving my son a bath and doing the weekly shop with my eldest daughter. In those moments I truly feel alive and fulfilled.

But I want to achieve much more than my grandma and mum did so I can leave my children more, so I pursued a career to teach my children discipline and commitment and I am now building my profile as an entrepreneur to teach my children that they can make their on way in life and don't have to be join the rat race of 9 to 5 jobs. The society we live in today is very different to that of our grandmas and mums. Things are tougher now and the man's wages alone can no longer sustain the family. So women and men have to adapt and adjust because things don't look like that they will be changing anytime soon.

I work 5 days a week and my husband 5.5 so at the weekend I have to catch up on housework, kids homework, cooking and my blog or an event we have to attend. So we adapted, my husband reads with my younger daughter whilst I do the weekly shop online at the same time as I am cooking. My eldest daughter supervises my son in the shower and he dresses himself. My kids are happy and I have a great relationship with all three of them and my marriage is stronger than ever because my husband and I have realised we need each other for friendship and emotional support if we're to survive under the pressures of modern day living, my career is going well and my magablog is gaining momentum and we are comfortable financially. I have a great life. So In response to the question, yes a woman can really have it all but does she really want it all and more importantly does she need it all????

I mean whilst I love my work, I wish I didn't have to. I would like to spend more time with my children, I would love to just play the role of wife and mum because it's is in the moments that I am playing those roles that I truly feel fulfilled and am happiest.

9 things you didn't know about sex.

1. You have two doors in your Vajayjay. So you can get pregnant even if you pee immediately after sex. You do not pee from the same opening you have sex with. However it is important to wee just after sex to reduce the risk of a urinary tract infection.

2. Crocodile poo used to be used as contraception. Eewww!! but I suspect it would have been very effective as the use of poo, crocodile or not, will put anyone off sex altogether. I would put a disclaimer advising you not to try this at home but where in the world will you get crocodile poo from in Nigeria.

3. Washing the vagina with Coca Cola or vinegar after unprotected sex will not prevent pregnancy but might give the woman an infection and she might still get pregnant. Just stop being cheap and take the morning after pill or better still don’t have unprotected if you don’t want to make a baby. If you are not on the pill or coil then make sure to take an umbrella whenever you go out in the rain in other words use a condom.
ONLY FOR DRINKING AND NOTHING ELSE!

4. Do you know that an average healthy male in two weeks can produce enough sperm to impregnate every single woman on the planet? Yeah that's a lot of sperm.

5. Ejaculated sperm can live up to 5 days in the female body and might even be able fertilise an egg.

6. HIV is not the only incurable STD. Herpes and HPV (human papilloma virus) are also incurable.

7. STDs like HPV, gonorrhoea, syphillis, herpes and hepatitis b can be transmitted via oral and anal sex as well as vaginal sex.

8. Every second counts. A woman's orgasm can last a couple of seconds longer than a man's which lasts between 10-15 seconds. Yes it's only a few seconds more but when it comes climaxing every second you remain in cloud nine freaking counts.

9. Semen contains calories. I personally wouldn't swallow sperm but some of y'all do and that's fine but if you're on a diet you might want to reconsider because each teaspoon of semen contains 5 calories. It’s not a lot, I know, but worth knowing.

3 healthy eating and cooking tips

1. Swap Groundnut oil for extra virgin olive oil. It’s high in heart-healthy antioxidants called polyphenols and monounsaturated fats, which can help lower “bad” LDL cholesterol and raise “good” HDL cholesterol levels. I know olive oil can be a bit pricey so you try the next best oil, sunflower oil is the next best thing. However if you must carry on with groundnut oil or palm oil the use less of it. The soup will still be sweet even if there isn’t a gallon of oil floating on top of it.

2. Use stock, chicken stock, beef stock or vegetable stock to add flavour to your meals as they contain very little calories. I suggest boiling your chicken or beef the night before you need it, drain out the stock and leave it in the fridge overnight. By morning the fat would have floated to the top to form a solid layer over the liquid. Scoop out the layer of fat and dispose of it and Tadaa…… you have your very own homemade low-fat stock to season your food with.

3. Lastly portion size portion size. You won’t lose weight or maintain a healthy weight if your plate always looks like it’s competing with Everest for the highest mountain peak. The trick is to use a smaller plate and then resisting the urge to go back for more. You don’t have to eat until your stomach is at bursting point before you know you are full.

4 Life saving tests too many of us are skipping

1.Cervical cancer smear test. This is a method of detecting abnormal cells in the cervix which if left untreated can develop into cancer. Most women skip this because it's uncomfortable and can be embarrassing for some. I mean you have to lie there and open your vagina and then a speculum is shoved inside you to open up your vagina for easy access to your cervix (neck of the womb.), yeah not pretty but it is necessary and could very well save your life. It only takes a few minutes and is not painful just a uncomfortable. If you are over the age of 25 you should have a smear test done every 5 years.

2.Hooking up with girls otherwise know as Self breast check. I am guilty of this as well but I skip it because I don't know how to. But there's no right way to check your breast. You just have to feel around your breast for lumps. Although the presence of lumps is not the only indication that something is wrong. Redness, a rash, an inverted nipple, a change in the size of breast or shape, nipple discharge or dimpling on the skin could also be signs that something is not right. So get to know your girls, I mean really know them so you can quickly spot any changes.

3.Mammogram. This is still the best and most effective way of diagnosing breast cancer at an early stage when any lumps might be too small for a person to feel. It is recommended that women over the age of 50 go for mammograms every 3 years. Sure you have to stand in front of huge machine with your girls out but I think its a small price to pay if it saves your life.

4.Eye test. Yes I know you don't need glasses but an eye test is not just for people that need glasses. It can also detect early signs of a number of serious conditions before any symptoms occur. Conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure and glaucoma, a condition that causes increased pressure in the eye and can lead to blindness if left untreated. So go to and optometrist very two years to get your eyes checked.

Small Penis.

I would like to know how to make my penis larger.  I'm not 100 % happy with what I have got because I feel it is small. I would like it a little larger than it is. A.M

Hello A.M and thank you for your question. You would be surprised to know that a lot of men ask this very question so you are not alone. Many men worry that there penis is too small when their penis is actually a normal size. As the saying goes it's not about the size it's about how you use it. If you’re overweight, losing weight will make your penis look larger. This is because the fat around your stomach may hide some of the base of your penis. Exercising more will not only help you get in shape, but it can improve your self-esteem and help your sex life.

However if you are convinced that your penis is on the small side and you are not overweight and exercise regularly and want to increase the size then you can try the following options.
Penis enlarger pump

1. A vacuum pump. This involves using a vacuum pump to encourage more blood into the penis thereby making is become more engorged than it normally would be when erect hence making it appear larger. This is a temporary fix as the blood will eventually drain out of the penis. There are quite a few on the market ranging from £17 to £70. But they all work with the same principle. We like the Ann summers penis enlarger pump for £17.  They are not painful to use just a little uncomfortable. If you are in London then purchase online or in store and if in Nigeria purchase via www.nuerasshoppingmall.com for delivery to you in Africa, they have a personal shopping service that you can use if you need help.

2. Other non surgical techniques include pills, supplements and creams for which there is very little evidence of efficacy.

3. A surgical procedure to increase the length. This involves cutting the suspensory ligament. This ligament joins the penis to the pelvic area and supports the penis in an upright position when it’s erect. When the ligament is cut, the penis hangs lower, which can make it look longer. However, cutting the ligament may also cause the penis to point downwards when erect. A study in 2006 found that this procedure led to an average increase of 1.3cm in penis length. However, only 35% of men who had the operation were happy with the results. So seriously consider before you go down this route. The surgery is expensive and not without risks.

4.Surgical procedure to increase the girth (thickness) of the penis. This can involve injecting fat taken from elsewhere in the body into the penis. There’s a risk that the penis may look uneven or lumpy, and there may be scarring. The injected fat can also disappear over time and the penis revert to its original girth. Very little evidence has been published on the long-term effectiveness and risks of this technique. So in effect if you choose this option you will be flying blind into the unknown.

3 types of shoes every respectable gentleman should own.

There are three types of shoes that should be found on every respectable man’s shoe rack.

  1. The classic lace-up that works for business or casual. It is chic when worn with a beautiful suit or a pair of smart jeans.
  2. The chukka boot. The perfect casual shoe. It is perfect for those semi-formal affairs at the weekend. They can be leather or suede.
  3. Lastly is the sneaker. The right pair can be worn with anything from jeans to a tuxedo. According to Tom Kalenderian, the executive vice president at Barney’s who has 36 years’ experience selling shoes, “ fashion has not dictated that you have to wear formal shoes with formal clothes.”

6 Most overrated sites to visit in London.

Planning a trip to London? Cut out the overpriced, underwhelming bits with tips from a local. Anyone who visits London for the first time usually comes with a checklist of sights to see. London Bridge, Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square, Oxford Circus, The Shard, and the London Eye are always high on it but as a resident of London I can tell you, you have to lower your expectations a little otherwise you’ll be sorely disappointed. Below, my list of the most overrated attractions in town.
1. Leicester Square

I get the attraction of Piccadilly Circus, the lights and the buzz and likewise that of Oxford Circus, the shops hmmmm so many shops, but Leicester Square? Essentially, you're lining up for 40 minutes in the freezing cold (depending on time of year but some summer nights can get a bit chilly especially for those coming from Africa) to spend £12 on a cinema ticket and £7 on a bucket of popcorn. Chances are the cinema will be full as well so getting a prime seat might not be possible. There's a park in the middle of the square that's flooded with pigeons, while around the edges are overpriced, underwhelming restaurants. My advice, just go to and see it so you check it  off your list but go to a cinema and/or restaurant closer to you, the ticket and food will be cheaper, the queues shorter, less tourists and you’re less likely to experience drunk and disorderly behaviour.

2. Eating in Chinatown

Every major city has a Chinatown, and London's isn't so special that it deserves a proper pilgrimage. If you're looking for good Chinese food, try Fortune Inn in Barking east London. Their special fried rice is amazing especially when you tell them to make it hot. Your food will taste better and cost far less and you’ll escape the tourists.

 3. The O2 Arena

The Millennium Dome was a must-visit right through the year 2000, then it sort of became redundant. Now known as the O2 Arena, it's really only worth visiting for a concert. It takes a mission to get there, the journey there is quite awkward, it's full of overly excited teenagers and tipsy adults, and the dining options are largely overpriced fast food.

4. View from The Shard

The Shard is quite the spectacle, dominant in the London skyline, so it's no surprise that going to the top is a popular box to tick on many a visitor's checklist. But paying £25 just to take the elevator to the crowded viewing platform? Don't do it. Instead, go to one of the bars at the top of the Shard and spend that money on cocktails. The panoramic views are just as good and the cocktails are great. But avoid Friday nights if you want to eat there because it’s crowded and very noisy and if you must go on a Friday then be sure to book a table well in advance.

5. Riding the Bus down Oxford Street

London red buses are an international icon, and it makes sense that anyone would want to ride one. Just don't ride it down Oxford Street. What sounds like a fun idea is actually a painfully slow, frustrating and unexciting experience. Take a bus down any other street in London—for the same experience, it will go much more smoothly. Just be sure it’s during the day and seat upstairs. There isn’t much to see form downstairs.

6. The London Eye

I have been on the London eye twice. Once just to check it off my list and then with my children just to check off their list. It’s fun for a few minutes then the novelty wears off and  you're stuck in your pod with up to 25 other people, making your way round for the rest of the half hour. And the views are not that great. You’ll be better off admiring the Eye from afar whilst taking a stroll on the Victoria Embankment.

Diaspora Directory - Accomodation

Going to Nigeria nowadays is completely different to how it was a few years ago. Gone are the days of having to stay to with family and relying completely on them to help you navigate your way around.
Now you can rent a place, hire a car, arrange a party and even arrange to have your food shopping delivered to your door like Tesco and Asda home delivery and all before you have even set foot in the country. But you have to be careful of cowboys.
I recently went to Lagos with my family and because we are a family of 5 my husband and I didn’t feel comfortable “crashing” at relatives' with our battalion so we rented a place, absolutely one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. It worked out to just under £150 a night for a 3 bed property in 1004 in Victoria Island Lagos.  We pretty much had the same sort of life we have in London including WIFI, running water and steady electricity plus tight security.
The main problem we encountered was getting reliable trustworthy information in the first place. There were a lot of places online but how do you distinguish friend from foe. Hence this travel guide.
Accomodation
Family friendly short let properties in Lagos
Fair Heavens (vetted by June's Secrets). It is run by a man named Derek. He has two sites including:
1. The 1004 Apartments in Victoria Island Lagos (Vetted by June's Secrets).
 Price list
- 2 bed fully furnished apartment - N30,000/day
- 3 bed fully furnished apartment - N35,000/day
-4 bed fully furnished apartment - N45,000/day
All prices include electricity and housekeeping. If you are staying for more than four weeks then there is a discount applied.
1004 is located in the heart of Lagos and within walking distance to many amenities. It comes with a large apartment and a communal pool. There are actually two pools per block a small one for the children and a large adult one. They are cleaned regularly and there is even a swimming instructor who can teach you how to swim if you don’t know how to. Ikoyi is a 10 minute drive away and the mainland a 15 minute drive without traffic. You have the following within walking distance:
-Grand square supermarket. This is a 5 minute walk for Block C and D and perhaps a 7 minute walk from Block A and B. I found the prices of products here quiet reasonable. You can get things like cereal, bread, spreads, cakes etc. It also has a pharmacy on the premises.
-Banks. If you have business to attend to, most of the major banks including Fidelity, Sky, Stanbic, Zenith etc are about a 20 minute walk away.
-ATM. There is an ATM machine within the estate which is safe.
-Palms shopping centre. This is about 25 minute walk or a 10minute drive and is home to Shoprite supermarket, a cinema, several shops and restaurants in case you fancy a night out or a spot of shopping.
-Civic centre. This is directly opposite the estate and is great for occasions.
-Elegushi beach. ( I hope I spelt it right) This is about 35minute walk or a 15minute drive. I wouldn’t recommend it though because I personally found it to be quite dirty, but perhaps I was just there on an off day for the beach so might still be worth checking out.
-Quinox night club. This is less than a 10 minute walk from the gate of the estate. Didn’t get to go there so can’t really give much info about it.
There are lots of different agents that rent out properties in 1004 so be very careful. I can only vouch for agent that I have tried and tested and found to be credible.

2. Ikoyi Towers
This is located on Awolowo way. I didn’t vet this is so I cannot give you much information about what it is like to stay there.
Price list
-3 bedroom fully furnished apartment on the 4th floor – N45,000/day
-3 bedroom fully furnished apartment on the 7th floor – N50,000/day
These ones are more expensive due to their location. I will update you with more info about it as soon as I find out more.
If you would like to get more information about any of the properties featured on here please email me on junessecrets@mail.com.
Also if you know any other family friendly short let properties please let us know and we will check it out and feature it!

Nigeria bans ' I better pass my neighbour'

So the Nigerian government has banned the bulk importation of low cost generator due to the risks associated with their use. Risks such as carbon monoxide emissions and fire hazards particularly in densely populated areas such as Lagos. The sale of single units are still allowed though, so my Igbo brothers, relax don’t panic your business is safe.

I don’t think this is the solution though. They need to focus on eradicating the demand for these generators by sorting out the power supply. People will just now upgrade to the larger and noisier diesel generators that give off more gas emissions.

21 year old seats exam whilst in labour...... and passes!

Now this is taking multitasking to whole other level…….. 21 year old Tommitrise Collins from Georgia wouldn’t let anything stop her from seating her online psychology exam, not even labour.
A picture of the young mother taking her exam in hospital went viral after it was posted, by her sister, on Facebook. Her water broke at around 1am on 12th of November, a week before her due date, and her exam was scheduled for 8 am that same morning. The single mum contacted her tutor and was allowed to seat the exam although she started 5 hours later than scheduled at 1.30pm that afternoon. She finished the 2 hour exam in 90 minutes and got a B and, after 20 hours of labour, a beautiful, healthy baby girl who she named Tyler Elise.
This story struck me because I remember when I had to do something very similar. I was pregnant in my final year of university and my final exam was 2 days before my due date and I had already started having Braxton hick’s contractions a week prior. I remember seating the last paper and then my contractions started. I had to try and get through as many questions between each contraction. I didn’t tell the invigilator because I would have been made to leave in an ambulance but I knew not finishing the exam then was not an option, because it meant I would have to wait another year before I could graduate. It was torture made worse by the fact that I had to hide the pain but with prayer and sheer determination I got through it successfully on two fronts but I wouldn’t recommend it. I too had a beautiful healthy baby girl at the end of my ordeal and I passed my exam and graduated that year as planned.
It’s amazing what we can do when we put our minds to it and believe that failure is not an option.

West London couple found guilty of enslaving man for 24 years.

Dr Emmanuel Edet, 61 and his wife Antan, 58 took a 13 year old boy, now known as Mr Inut, in 1989 from Nigeria to be their houseboy in exchange for payment and education. Instead he was made to work at least 17hours every day in the couple’s home cooking, cleaning and caring for their 2 children with no pay or education for 24 years. He wasn’t allowed out of the house or in certain rooms in the home. He was kept compliant by threats of arrest by the police if he was discovered due to his illegal immigrant status. Mr Inut, now nearly 40, was liberated in December 2013when he contacted the UK charity Hope for justice from a computer at the couple’s home after seeing an advert about modern day slavery.

The couple were taken to court and found guilty of holding a person in slavery or servitude, child cruelty and assisting unlawful immigration. They will be sentenced on 7th of December.

The victim is now living a new life in the UK. He is studying, has his own home and is free to come and go as he pleases.

Teen 'attempted' rapist had tongue bitten off.

In north Charleston, South Carolina, 16 year old Antoine Miller, who was already facing charges for burglary, weapons possession, kidnapping, assault and criminal sexual conduct from a previously failed attack was charged with attempted rape.

The story is that on September 17th Miller tried to sexually assault a lady after following her several blocks and then dragging her into some bushes but she screamed and he got spooked and fled but was later caught and arrested and let out on bail. On October 16th he attempted to sexually assault another lady. He shoved his tongue into her mouth and she bit down as hard as she could until she heard his tongue snap. He got off her quickly and started screaming in pain at which point his victim flees and contacts the police.

This is some seriously messed up kid. But kudos to the lady, I would like to shake her hand it feels good to hear a story like this about a woman fighting back and winning.

Mother charged with dropping baby from 8th-floor window

This story really shocked and saddened me as I am a mother myself. 19 year old Mubashra Uddin has been charged with murder after she threw her new born daughter out of her 8th floor apartment in Chicago, for fear of discovery. Apparently she’s not the only mum at it. 3 other mothers in New York have thrown their babies out of windows since august. A 3 week old baby boy, a newborn baby and a 6 month old baby girl where thrown out of a 4th floor, 7th floor and 6th floor apartment windows respectively by their mothers.

I am not sure what was going through their minds, I mean would discovery really have been so bad? They could have just left the babies at a hospital or a church or an orphanage no questions asked. Perhaps they were suffering from postpartum depression because I can’t wrap my head round a mother wanting to hurt their child like that. They had choices but they chose to kill the babies.

Nigeria's legislature to ban internet porn, If they can figure out how to.

I couldn’t stop laughing when is saw this headline. We hve unsatbe electricity, drainage issues, security issues, high youth unemployment, too many people still living below the poverty line, boko haram, falling oil prices and a sub standard healthcare system in need of reforms and the issue the lower house of the Nigerian parliament decides to tackle is internet porn?
Their excuse is that it is corrupting the morals of Nigerians. After discussions they still have not yet figured out how to ban internet porn without banning the internet altogether so chances are the law is unlikely to ever come to pass. What a waste of time and public funds.
