6 Nipple Facts

1.Yours are perfect and normal.

No two nipples are the same not even your two. They come in all shapes, sizes and colours. The colour of the nipples tend to change permanently in most women after childbirth due to hormonal surges during pregnancy.

2.Nipple-gasms are a real thing.

A 2011 study  showed a link between nipple stimulations and the pleasure centre in the brain. Some people do experience orgasm from nipple stimulation alone and for those who don’t, it will bring you very close.

3.Some people have inverted nipples.

That means instead of pointing out, the nipples actually are indented into the skin and point in. Some people get surgery to “fix” their inverted nipples. However if your nipple suddenly becomes inverted it could be a sign of cancer behind the nipple pulling it back. So go get checked out straightaway.

4.They don’t like the gym

Working out could be very rough on your nipple as your sports bra could cause the nipple to become dry chafed and even bloody as it rubs on your nipples. Applying some petroleum jelly or tape on your nipples before working will protect them.

5. Everyone can get breast cancer, yes men too.

According to the American Cancer Society a little over 2,360 men in the United States are diagnosed with breast cancer each year, and about 430 die from it. The bottom line is that if you find a lump where there wasn’t one before, you should see a doctor right away — regardless of your gender. That’s especially true if you have a family history of breast cancer.

6. Your nipples can sometimes leak fluid, even if you are not pregnant or breastfeeding.

This can be a normal response to getting your breast or nipple squeezed really hard (like if you get a mammogram). But it could also be a sign of trouble. You should see a doctor ASAP if your nipple discharge happens randomly (like you wake up one morning and there’s a stain in your nightwear); if it’s bloody; or if it is only happening on one side and not both.
